Sitting in the salon of my favorite little French family hotel the day after my resignation from de Buyer Industries, and the day of the birth of my new business.
The electrifying emotions of freedom and excitement for the future......mixed with a little trepidation about the new. My partnership with the venerable French company was easy. Well, lots of hard work, actually, but not relative to running your own company and taking your own risk. A great and enjoyable achievement.....but too easy, for an entrepreneur-at-heart.
Now I'm in control of my own destiny once again, and it is a very familiar place. I've spent most of my life in this natural state, so what's so new?
This time I'm determined to build my greatest business, based on industry-changing innovations. A business, a brand, and products that will endure for generations. Reshape the industry, not just participate.
My first real business.....relatively speaking. My other businesses have been big-gish. Successful-ish. No more -ishes. This time it's serious......
